Started up via East Topanga Fire Road, which turns into Eagle Springs Fire Road, both of which ironically held the line when a brush fire wiped out 30% of the park in May 2021. The fire didn’t leap over these wide dirt roads.
At the Hub Junction, veered off to the left for a bit on Temescal Canyon Fire Road. Found a safe patch of rocky dirt for a smoke break. (Relax, I used an electric lighter).
A snowy Mount Baldy in the distance.
Backtracked to the Hub Junction and took the Backbone trail toward the backside of Eagle Rock.
Eagle Rock, straight ahead, then took the Musch Trail back down.
Rain started up during the last mile or so. No complaints.
The greens and reds were poppin…
End of the road.
