Parker Mesa + Las Virgenes Open Preserve
Topanga / West Hills, CA (14.6 miles total)
Only took one shot on the West Hills hike. Hopeful the rainy season is substantial enough to turn this place green again. There was a time that this place reminded me of Green Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog. Now it’s more like Dune.
Part of Topanga State Park also burned last year, but not the Parker Mesa trail! Even with the drought, it’s still fairly green.
Poisonous or not, I wouldn’t touch these berries. Too aesthetically pleasing to mess with.
